Of Cookies & Cream...

Indonesia is one of the best places to visit. All right... bureaucracy's a little... you know. That's life right? Policies are never clear and concise because policy makers do not want to thread on thin ice with political supporters. You know...
The mant things I love about Indonesia are her great, wonderful and friendly people, great food, vast lands and opportunities, shopping... there's just so many things! That's why I can stay as long as I did.
PT Lembah Karet (Karet is rubber, as is Getah) in Padang, sometime in 2002 or is it 2001. My 2nd trip there. On the left is Pak Rinaldi - Factory Manager, Me & Pak Bintoro aka Chia Sin Bin. Really nice people. Really nice. You can say Pak Bin & I are close. After all, I sent one of the biggest congratulatory signs (made with flowers) on his daughter's wedding dinner (I couldn't attend. There were only 2 flights a week to Padang then. I think it's true for now too). I didn't know that SG$50 could buy such a huge one!
The next time we met was in Singapore for RTAS (Rubber Trade Association - Singapore) held during the last day of the CNY. We met a couple of days ahead because he had a medical checkup too, and guess what? He bought me a piece of silk batik. OMG... that was so nice of him. Considering that Padang is not known for it's Batik, he must've gotten it from somewhere else. I had it made into a long sleeved shirt. It's my fav one which I wear to social or glam functions.
We skipped dinner, met after that, ,and went for some entertainment. Funny how sometimes people rush to pay for stuff? Well.. no one can beat Pak Bin or his buddy Ah Ming (from the same group, but in Banjarmasin).
Thinking about those days really makes me miss them all so much. They may be way older than me, probably my dad's age... but we get along just fine. Maybe I should work overseas again? Food for thought... night all...
