Tonic Water Anyone?

Nothing unusual happened today. Of course, everything after 12 pm became unusual - I woke up from bed.

Was performing my fast today. Remembered to say my intentions the few hours before Subhr, and went to sleep at 6am. Was a pretty long and tiring night. Hadn't been getting enough sack time and my body was feeling weak. Oh... had a couple of asprins, and I think that did the job of putting me out of action for awhile.

Got a text message from Su saying that she was done with her medical. She was in town, "retail theraphy" (and rightfully so... she's been a good girl lately *Muacks*). My temper was foul to begin with. Met her at Al-Falah. Took about a half hour to do my prayers. Yes, I prayed for patience, hoping the time will pass fast enough for me to inhale my need for nicotine.

Managed to grab a bus to Little India. I love to travel to Little India. Somehow the colors and the vibrancy of the place tends to perk me up. Had a good time exploring the shops on the 2nd level and then to Sheng Siong where we spent about $25 on groceries and snacks.

Got home in time to prep dinner to break fast and received a wonderful call from Rosli and Shireen saying that they'll pop by our place. Normally, it'll be something that's nice and pleasant, but not extraordinary. But Rosli works a full day on Saturday, which somehow makes it sweeter to have that thought and actually making the effort to come over to CG somehow shows this couple's sincerity.

I had truck loads of fun taking pictures, "shooting shit", cooking. It was really a pleasant end to the evening. Of course that's not all! Wait till you get a load of this: We all decided to do Ishr together. Rosli did Adzan and all the optional and complusory prayers. In my opinion, his voice puts many professional singers to shame! His prayer call was so beautiful and I was so surprised! Well... I should be. We talk to each other. We don't sing.

A beautiful, melodious and harmonious voice. That's his gift from Allah! Ahamdulilah! Ahamdulilah! My God has shown me this person not only sincere in heart but strong in vocals! Ahamdulilah! Many people can only imagine the gift! And many would die for it. I would. Ok... not literally die... wonder if singing lessons can help...

I truly wish I had this talent. My current talent seems to be to educate my long time friends on Islam. Not as a missionary, but as a dispeller of sorts. Quite happy with that role. But I do wish I have a singing voice though.

Rosli, Allah has bestowed the gift of melody in you. Ahamduliah! Ahamduliah! Ahamdulilah! Shine for all of us! We are all very proud you did not shy from leading us in prayer. Insya Allah, in the near future, may Allah bless you with the courage, wisdom, strength and all things good to inspire more of us as you have inspired me (and many more I am sure!). I'll help you with marketing!!!
