Kueh Lapis
We managed to get our keys - FINALLY, from HDB on Friday. I thought that since I would be on leave on Friday, I would go back to the office and do some work there. Stayed till about 3am, got home by four, and slept till 9am. Our appointment was at 1010 am. Boy, what was I thinking?! I'm no longer young!!! Cannot keep this up!!!
At 9am, Su was knocking on my bedroom door! She looked so so cute in her white blouse and dark black skirt! So pretty!!! My little skool teacher! We took a cab to the Hub, and all th documents were completed by 1110 am. It's surprising how fast things move when you raise your voice a little.
We took the train to Sengkang and for the first time, opened the door to our new home, Alhamdullilah! We were both surprised at how large the living room + dining room was, and how minuscule all the bedrooms were. But the most important thing is, Alhamdullilah, we got the place, and nothing else mattered! We are coming closer to forming a family, Insya Allah.
We were both so excited! Su was so cute trying to use the measuring tape!!! I had a really good time watching her play designer. It's things like this that money can't buy. It's so much more fun to do it yourself. That's why, as the owner of an ID firm, I could not understand why couples do not wanna do this themselves. It's weird. Anyway, we had loads of fun.
Alhamdullilah! On Saturday, after speaking to Trecia and measuring the floor for laminate flooring, we managed to get a good LCD TV, as what Su said for a good price, that came bundled with a home entertainment system!!! Yeah!!! Whoo Hoo!!! It was a mad rush to the IT show in Suntec from our flat in Sengkang! But it was worth every bit of the effort to save so much money! Alhamdullilah!
Was another mad rush to Marsiling, to Pak Long's house for prayers! It was really good, just that my legs were a lot sore!!! But Alhamdullilah! Managed to stay awake for the whole duration! What happened after that was really weird! Mak Long was so serious and forceful and told me that I must not say anything during our wedding ceremony! She was so exasperated when I kept joking till I think she lost her cool! Lol!!! And she was so admandent that Pak Long & Imam Ghalib accompany me so that I'll not get into trouble! Poor Su. Everyone of her family must be thinking she married a joker! The running joke is during the interview with the kdai @ ROMM, it was me who did the interviewing, not him! Insya Allah, I will behave myself on the day!
Wanna know something else? Su & I are the first of the WHOLE family to get married there!!! Imam Ghalib said so! None of her dad's family ever got married there!!! Alhamdullilah!!!
Today, I selected the tiles for the bathrooms as well as kitchen. Alhamdullilah! We managed to get good price again! And my former tiler was more than willing to do the job for me! Next mission, finding a carpenter!!! Whoo Hoo!!!
It's been really fun, these couple of days, watching Su search for suppliers, deciding on color of the house, it's really endearing. She's trying so so hard, and I am amazed how fast she's learning. In fact, I think I did push her to the deep end of the pool by giving her all my salary for her to managed. Alhamdullilah, she's doing well.
Now, there's bigger problems at work that's been bugging me. I think I've offended my boss. Now... to remedy the situation!!!
